Child Care and Early Learning at Martha & Mary KIDS

Our mission at M&M KIDS is joyful care and excellent early learning. Through programs that focus on both learning and fun, we capture the joys of childhood, prioritize each child's safety, and nurture their individual development. We create an enriching atmosphere for your child's development, providing an educational platform that lays a strong foundation for lifelong academic, social, and emotional success.

We’re exceptionally proud that Early Achievers, Washington’s premier child care quality rating and improvement center, has awarded all of our Child Care and Early Learning Centers with a “Quality of Excellence” rating.

Martha & Mary Infant Care Program

Ages 4 weeks to 11 months

As a parent, you naturally want to know that your baby receives attentive and nurturing care. Our infant program is carefully designed to create a safe haven, staffed by experienced educators who honor your baby’s daily routines, nutritional requirements, and individual needs.

Our evidence-based program has been meticulously crafted to bolster your baby's developmental milestones. With a staff-to-child ratio of 1:4, we have plenty of time to talk, sing, cuddle, and read with your little one. We also use and teach “baby signs” (sign language) in our infant and toddler programs to facilitate communication and reduce frustration. Our sensory-rich environments and soft play areas are designed to foster exploration, rolling over, pulling up, and crawling, with toys and materials in a variety of colors, textures, sounds, and patterns to spark your little one’s interest and engage their senses.

Toddler Care Program

Ages 12 to 30 months

Our amazing toddler teams possess the patience, expertise, energy, and training required to keep lively and curious toddlers engaged. Our toddler program includes a variety of educational activities designed to strengthen your little one’s language, cognitive, motor, and social skills, as well as their emerging independence. It's crucial to engage "the whole child" at this developmental stage, and we use hands-on experiences, music, and movement to help them learn.

Our toddlers have their very own outdoor play area, which allows them a safe place to explore the wonder of the outdoors. They also participate in family-style dining with their peers and teachers at mealtime to practice their pouring, scooping, and passing skills around the table.

With a staff-to-child ratio of 1:7, our teachers can focus on your child while they learn, climb, stack, sing, dance, create, count, role play, and explore alongside their classmates.

Martha & Mary Preschool

Ages 2.5 to 4 years

A unique age group, preschool kids still have the energy and curiosity of toddlers, but they are also starting to crave challenge and independence. They begin to collaboratively play with their classmates and develop a better understanding of how their actions and words impact others. Our teachers make the most of “teachable moments” throughout the day to help children practice problem-solving, express their needs and ideas respectfully, and take turns—all vital social skills for success in preschool and beyond.

Our research-based curriculum emphasizes emergent language and literacy, science, and math skills to prepare the kids for kindergarten, while encouraging them to develop their knowledge and abilities on their own through investigation, exploration, and discovery.

Preschool students also benefit from the experience of our weekly intergenerational program, which allows them to enjoy arts & crafts, singing, playing games, gardening, and dining with seniors from our senior care centers. This unique opportunity allows children and seniors to interact, enjoy each other's company, and learn from one another.

Martha & Mary Pre-K

Ages 4 to 5/6 years

The year preceding kindergarten is a period of significant and exhilarating growth. Our program combines dedicated teachers who cherish this crucial time with a curriculum designed to nurture the social and academic skills necessary for school readiness. Your child is steered towards kindergarten preparedness with activities that foster learning and skill development through investigation, exploration, collaboration, and discovery.

Our Pre-K program places particular emphasis on emergent language/literacy, science, and math skills. Through research-based teaching methods and thoughtful activities and projects, our teachers ensure that Pre-K students get developmentally appropriate, meaningful learning materials and experiences to lay the groundwork for success not only in kindergarten but also beyond.

Pre-K students also benefit from our Intergenerational Program, which allows the children to enjoy arts & crafts, singing, playing games, gardening, and dining with residents at local senior care centers. Additionally, we include transition activities in the Pre-K curriculum. Children may take a field trip to a local elementary school, or could have a current Kindergarten teacher visit our classroom.
